Jason "Fletcher Christian" Laws is coming out of the global pandemic in the viral "A Brand New Day" Wiz Dance video by choreographer James Alonzo White. He originally kicked off 2020 by performing with Daybreaker on Oprah's 2020 Vision Tour at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. He previously booked an episode on the new NETFLIX Original Series The Get Down, directed by Baz Luhrmann as a featured dancer. He quickly followed with his debut appearance at New York Fashion Week for Moncler at New York's Lincoln Center under the direction of artistic director Luam Keflezgy.
A native of Charlotte, NC, he studied at the University of Notre Dame where he made a heart-guided change from becoming a doctor to pursuing his passion for dance. After graduation he trained with hip hop dance companies, in addition to acting at Second City Chicago Conservatory. After booking and assisting on the world-famous Black Eyed Peas / Oprah "I gotta feeling" flash mob, Jason moved to New York where he quickly began more training in Hip-Hop, House, and Street Jazz at Broadway Dance Center and Peridance Capezio Dance Center.
His career in New York City has included: dancing with Will Smith on the Jimmy Fallon Late Night Show, performing at MTV Video Music Awards with Travis Scott as a featured backup dancer, and booking America's Got Talent as a backup dancer-singer for singer Sharon Irving. To date, he has been featured on two national commercials one as a principal dancer for the famed 800-588-2300 Empire carpets and another for GIVIT as the lead speaking role, "Dad Away at War". Additionally, PUMA direct booked Jason as a Live Host at the global PUMA shoe launch in Times Square and interviewing 6-time Olympic gold medalist, Usain Bolt, the world's fastest man.
Jason currently resides in New York City. When he is not dancing, he is singing/working on music for his upcoming EP, and can be found traveling across the globe creative directing and producing live brand marketing experiences, flash mobs and corporate events for leading brands like Google, NBA, NHL, SONY, Urban Outfitters, BVLGARI, BRAVO's Project Runway and more.
